Alliance is a Live Action Role Playing (LARP) game—a fantasy role playing game like D&D, but done in real life instead of through dice and character sheets. Alliance has chapters across the USA, and a character created in any chapter can be played in any chapter within the world of Fortannis.

NEPA is the chapter of Alliance that covers the northeastern parts of PA and up into NY state. NEPA stands for North East Pennsylvania.

Our primary site is EMR Event Park, found at 577 Wolf's Lair Road (Rt 706 & 601), New Milford, PA 18834.

We also have had winter parlor events at The Edison, found at 410 Market Street (side rear entrance), Sunbury, PA 17857.

All characters and associated goblin/dragonstamps can be found on the CMA. If you would like to make test characters for fun, check out the freeplay form.

Gobbies (Goblin stamps) are an out-of-game currency awarded to players who help the chapter run its game. They can be spent to gain experience from events you were unable to attend (some restrictions apply), and they can also be spent on some in-game items depending on the chapter.

Gobbies can be earned by NPCing, donating materials/food/props/money, and volunteering at fairs or conventions.

Here are some options:

  • Blanketing your character on the CMA
  • Magic items
  • Boons of the Forgotten
  • Public Projects
  • And all options offered in the rulebook (adventuring equipment, buffs, and more)

Yup—two. One for the LARP and one for the site. You’re invited to print and sign both to bring with you, but they will be available at Logistics.

Note: The NEPA waiver needs to be signed yearly, and the EMR waiver needs to be signed every event.

You can use the conversion sheet to calculate items to buy, which you can report to Logistics.

Yes—Ascension is a level capped game. The game starts at 150 build, and the max level increases over time. If you want to come play with a character higher than the current cap, reach out and the team will work with you to level down your character.

Contact: NEPAGM@gmail.com and nepalogistics@gmail.com.

Yes—Ascension has a 20 ritual cap per player for magic items.

Yes—restricted items are accepted, and the chapter will accept magic items of normal construction from any chapters. Items from other chapters must be checked in and approved by the GM before they can be used.

Be advised: You have NPC monsters that can destroy formal magic.

The chapter offers a Magic Item Pick List, from which anyone can “buy” magic items, scrolls, catalysts, or components using Goblin Stamps. If you’re unsure about how many stamps you have, check your CMA Dashboard. If the amount seems incorrect, contact the General Manager and Logistics.

While browsing the list and choosing what you wish to make, keep in mind the Magic Item Policy for 2025 (subject to change as the system is adjusted).

Requests

Once you’ve confirmed you can afford your chosen item, submit your request to the General Manager (nepagm@gmail.com) and Logistics (nepalogistics@gmail.com) at least two weeks before the next Alliance NEPA event. Format:

  • Subject: Magic Item Request
  • Your name and character ID# from the CMA
  • Your chosen item rep (e.g., “Silver necklace w/ green jewel”)
  • The name of your new item
  • Which rituals you would like on it
  • If picking scrolls, list which ones
  • For dual school/general aspect rituals, choose an aspect (Earth/Celestial/Necromantic) or one will be chosen

Requested items should be picked up at Logistics at the next Ascension event unless noted otherwise.

Earning Gobbies

Gobbies are rewarded for time, work, resources, or funds given to the chapter, e.g.:

  • Fundraisers and donations
  • NPCing
  • Crafting (garb, props, weapons, etc.)
  • Work Weekends

Limitations
  • Requests are LCO (do not travel to other chapters); LCO scrolls render their rituals/items/etc. LCO as well.
  • Some chapters may accept others’ LCO items—check with the chapter’s Logistics.
  • LCO rituals must be cast upon an item rather than the person’s spirit unless specifically offered otherwise.
  • Catalysts may only be purchased for the listed scrolls.
  • Rituals on requested items must be of the same aspect.
  • Each requested magic item may have a maximum of 10 rituals.
  • Preserve Duration is not purchasable; standard duration is 20 logistics periods.
